About this file

This is a Statement of Work for the installation of an electronic gate system at Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge located at 800 Great Creek Road in Oceanville (Galloway), New Jersey. The project encompasses three primary work categories: prep work, adjacent fence and gate supports, and gate installation and operation.

The prep work requires removal of all existing damaged gate and fencing equipment and debris from the site. For adjacent fence and gate supports, the contractor must install 25 feet of chain link fencing at 4 feet height with 2-inch mesh, #9 gauge galvanized wire. This includes two in-line posts of 2-1/2-inch diameter galvanized steel spaced maximum 10 feet on centers, set in 10-inch diameter concrete footings to 3 feet depth; terminal posts of 4-inch diameter galvanized steel in 16-inch diameter concrete footings to 3 feet depth; 1-5/8-inch diameter galvanized steel top rails; and #7 galvanized coil spring wire attached to the fence bottom for reinforcement. The gate installation requires mounting one CSL 24 UL Liftmaster operator with two safety entrapments, one photoeye, and one Liftmaster gate edge with receiver to cover a 21-foot opening. The contractor must install a Liftmaster receiver compatible with the Refuge's existing 811LMX and 371LM visor-mounted remote control units, a 7-day timer with hold open switch and memory battery in an outdoor J-box, a gooseneck with wireless Liftmaster KPW keypad, an OVS-02GT Optex virtual loop mini post for free exit, and four new gate rollers (two upper and two lower). All equipment must be wired, programmed, tested, and adjusted, with gate limits set. The contractor must provide applicable manuals and conduct on-site demonstration to government officials on gate operation and timer settings, leaving the site neat with smoothed surface soils.
