YOSE Fire Office Trailer Fresh Water and Wastewater Utility Connection Project

Objective This project will connect a newly placed Yosemite Fire Office Trailer to existing potable water and wastewater lines nearby. The electrical connection will be performed under a separate contract and is not included in the work described here. This project occurs on National Park Service (NPS) property and close coordination with NPS Utility operators will be required.

Address of the worksite is 2219 Rail Road, El Portal CA 95318.

Background Yosemite Wildland Fire Module (Fire Crew) is moving from the Chinquapin house down to a newly installed office trailer behind the Motor Inn Cabins in El Portal, CA. The new trailer site is in a location that does not have trailer hook-ups so this project will add potable water and waste water connections. NEPA Compliance is complete for this project and on-site monitoring from NPS Archeologists and or Tribal members may be required.

Scope of Work Contractor shall call 811 (Diggers Hotline) to request utility locating prior to starting to dig.

Potable Water Connection

See Attached Conceptual Drawing for details listed below.

Contractor shall trench approx. 65 feet and install new 1” PVC waterline from the Trailer site south to the existing 6” line. Hot Tap into 6” line, install corp stop (valve), install meter box, meter, Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV). Meter will be supplied by NPS. NPS Utilities shall be notified by the contractor when line connections begin and end. NPS Utilities will inspect work prior to trenches being filled.

Contractor must adhere to American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards for drinking water connection.

Wastewater Connection

See Attached Conceptual Drawing for details listed below.

Contractor shall trench approx. 60 feet and install new 4” ABS sewer line from the trailer site east to tie into the existing 4” lateral servicing residential address 5542 Foresta Road. Notification to area residences need to be made 7 days in advance if service will be disrupted. Disruption to any residential shall be restored within the same day. Install two cleanouts as indicated in drawing. Contractor must adhere to American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards for wastewater connection.

Delivery:

A site visit is not required but highly encouraged. There will be no change order due to differing site conditions.

It's anticipated this work will take approx. three days and be completed no later than 6 September, 2024.

Safety Work area must be secured each day prior to contractor departure. All trenches shall be covered overnight. Emergencies should be reported by calling 9-1-1.
