About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a communications site lease at Calico Peak to support the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) California Desert District operations. The key objectives are to establish a secure, enclosed communications site at Calico Peak that meets Motorola R56 standards and provides the necessary equipment and infrastructure to improve radio coverage and safety for BLM staff working in the field.
The SOW outlines detailed technical requirements for the site, including providing space for BLM-owned equipment, meeting power and environmental standards, and having a tower capable of supporting BLM antennas. It also specifies requirements for site access, security, and the ability to expand the site in the future. The related federal contract opportunity is a sole-source procurement by the BLM to lease the Calico Peak communications site from American Tower Corp. The BLM has determined there are no other sites in the area that can meet the required coverage needs.
