About this file
This Statement of Work outlines requirements for installing a vehicle effluent treatment system at the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge in Davis, West Virginia to be completed by December 2024. The project involves installing a 4'x4'x4' concrete tank with multi-media filter material and associated piping to handle car wash bay effluent.
The concrete tank must be constructed with 4,000 psi concrete, 6-inch thick walls reinforced with grade 60 #4 rebar spaced at 6 inches on center, and include a watertight removable access cover. The system requires 4-inch diameter perforated Schedule 40 PVC pipe inside the tank and 3-inch Schedule 40 PVC pipe for inlet/outlet connections. A 1/2 horsepower sump pump must be installed at the filter tank outlet. The tank will contain layers of sand and gravel media as specified in the concept drawings. The contractor is responsible for site preparation, excavation, providing shop drawings for approval, and ensuring all work meets applicable codes and standards including West Virginia DEP, ACI, ASTM, and OSHA requirements. The tank must be installed to match the existing sediment tank outlet pipe elevation of 3,212.117 feet.
