Specifications Free-standing Livestock Panels for Theodore Roosevelt National Park

March 24, 2023

Theodore Roosevelt National Park wishes to procure 96 welded steel, free standing livestock panels.

Constructed of used oil infrastructure, with the framing composed of drill stem pipe (approximately 3 inches external diameter, and ¼ inch wall; Figure 2). Cross bars are constructed of solid steel sucker rod (approximately 1 inch in diameter; Figure 3). Pipe framing is pinched at welding junctions (Figure 2) and includes two feet constructed of the same pipe material, which has been bent upward a center for connecting to the frame and to allow positioning on uneven landscapes (Figure 4). Panels are to be outfitted with chaining plates;

triangular pieces of flat steel with a notch that captures chain to connect panels; welded mid-way up and on inside of pipes on each end (constructed of ¼ inch thick plate steel or similar). Total height of panels is approximately 65 inches (from bottom of feet to top of frame; Figure 5), and total length is 24 feet. Steel is to be “rust out”; no paint, with metal allowed to oxidize. The length of the “panel feet” is 5 feet. These are free-standing panels that are supported by “feet” welded perpendicular to the panel. See Figures 6 – 8 for additional reference on specifications.

Note: the plates are welded mid-way up the end pipes on each end and are constructed of ¼ inch thick plate steel. Here, the one highlighted is on a panel set behind and overlapped by the panel in front, so the picture is somewhat deceptive.
