All work required by the project documents shall be accomplished by the contractor even though minor items required may not be specifically mentioned.
BACKGROUND
This project is located within Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield. The project is to install an electrical line to picnic area pavilion. The only electrical service to the picnic shelter was disconnected 7 years ago because it was unsafe and now has been removed. This project would provide safe wiring to the pavilion for functions such as park events, weddings and family gatherings.
OBJECTIVE/TASKS:
• Task 1: Install Electrical Line to Picnic Area.
o Sub Task 1: Setup safety perimeter barriers for approved work.
o Sub Task 2: Set up line boring machine. If Tour Road needs to be partially closed, it must be coordinated with Facility Manager o Sub Task 3: Bore a new 1 ¼ inch conduit from existing shelter with electrical panel to existing pavilion in picnic area, approximately 220 linear feet at a minimum depth of 24 inches. The electric line should be bored the entire way. A map is provided that illustrates a direct route to the Pavilion. The contractor can use an alternate route SE along the tour road to avoid the sidewalks before turning SW towards the SE corner of the pavilion. The contractor is responsible for any costs associated with the increased distance of any less direct route. The electrical feed will terminate at the SE corner of the pavilion.
o Sub Task 4: Install an in-ground J-Box on the SE corner of pavilion for a pull box for future use. A pull box is to be installed at the SE corner of the pavilion and the concrete pad adjacent to the nearest support post should be notched or bored so that conduit can be run up the post without creating a trip hazard. The contractor will be required to submit a transmittal for approval for the pull box, LED light fixtures, outlets, and light switch.
o Sub Task 5: Pull two 120 volt, 20 amp circuits to pavilion area.
o Sub Task 6: Install two 20 amp GFI weatherproof outlets on the south side of the two south support posts.
o Sub Task 7: Install two LED light fixtures on the under supporting rafters of the pavilion.
o Sub Task 8: Install weather proof light switch with lockable cover on south side of south east support post.
o Sub Task 9: Install two 20 amp circuits, first one to first GFI plug and one to second GFI plug and the lights. All above grade wiring will use all copper wire and within galvanized rigid conduit.
o Sub Task 10: Install two new 20 amp breakers in existing breaker box and connect to new line.
