About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details the installation of 5 commercial grade automatic slide gate openers at the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge in Sanibel, Florida. The project involves installing gate operators at five distinct locations: Wildlife Drive Main Entrance, Wildlife Drive Fee Booth, Wildlife Drive Exit, Maintenance Shop, and Tarpon Bay Rec Area. Each location requires a chain-driven commercial grade heavy duty gate opener with specific motor requirements, including a heavy-duty rodent-proof enclosure, ETL listing, field-programmability, and an intelligent charging system.
The contractor must perform electrical work, including installing new 220v electrical wiring, conduit, and subpanels, and integrate access control equipment with 7-day timers, remote controls, keypads, and sensors. Safety features include edge contact sensors, infrared photocells, and free exit loops. The gates will be programmed to open based on a daily timer, close automatically after vehicle exit, provide emergency access, and include manual override capabilities. The project has a performance period from August 1 to December 4, 2025, and requires a one-year warranty on materials, equipment, and workmanship, with a five-year manufacturer's warranty on gate controllers.
