About this file

This statement of work describes requirements for an aerial camera pod enclosure. The U.S. Geological Survey needs a custom-built sensor enclosure compatible with a Cessna 182 aircraft. The enclosure must house a Lucint M multispectral camera measuring 4.125 x 4.125 x 2.65 inches. It must integrate with a Meeker Aviation strut mount and quick release, accommodate the camera in nadir or oblique orientation, and include customized antivibration mounts. The selected vendor will integrate the camera into the enclosure, designing mounting brackets, vibration isolators, and openings. A travel case is also required. The related solicitation is for this aerial camera pod and accessories per the statement of work. Offerors should respond to solicitation number 140G0123Q0243 issued by the Department of the Interior US Geological Survey Office of Acquisitions and Grants.

AERIAL CAMERA POD

1.0 INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

The U.S. Geological Survey, Water Mission Area, Observing Systems Division, Hydrologic Remote Sensing

Branch (HRSB) needs to procure a sensor enclosure with sufficient volume and flexibility to house a multispectral camera system. The sensor enclosure will be used to collect aerial remote sensing data from a Cessna 182 aircraft. This Statement of Work (SOW) describes the government’s requirements.

The enclosure will be custom built.

2.0 SCOPE

This SOW is for a sensor enclosure with the ability to house a multispectral camera from Lucint (model

Lucint‐M). The physical dimensions of the multispectral camera payload are 4.125 in x 4.125 in x 2.65 in

(excluding lenses). The enclosure must be compatible with a Meeker Aviation strut mount and dovetail quick release designed and approved for a Cessna 182 aircraft. The enclosure must be able to accommodate the camera payload in either an oblique or nadir orientation. The enclosure must have customized anti‐vibration mounts that can be customized for the weight and center of gravity for the camera payload. The vendor will integrate the multispectral camera payload supplied by the USGS HRSB, with the enclosure. Integration includes the design of enclosure mounting brackets, vibration isolators, and hole openings. A travel case for shipping the enclosure will also be included.
