About this file

This Description of Requirement (DOR) details critical materials needed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory (CHL) at the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in Vicksburg, MS for constructing a physical model of the St. George Harbor in Alaska. The procurement involves six specific line items including 32 sheets of plastic-coated plywood, 100 pieces of lumber, construction screws, Drew Foam blocks (brand name or equal), and two 5-gallon paint colors, totaling 270 units of materials.

Delivery requirements specify shipping to the ERDC within 30 calendar days of contract award, with FOB Destination terms. Deliveries must be emailed to the Technical Point of Contact 48 business-hours prior and include labeled packing slips. The materials support the Alaska District's (POA) design of a critical harbor infrastructure at St. George Island, which serves as a key port of refuge for industry and coast guard ships during Bering Sea storms and ice flows. The vendor must provide a standard commercial warranty, and any "equal" product submissions must meet specific documentation and evaluation criteria outlined in the federal acquisition regulation (FAR) guidelines.

St. George Harbor Model – Alaska District (POA)

Title: St. George Harbor Model -POA

Background: The Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory (CHL) located within the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Vicksburg, MS supports the USACE through the development and operation of physical models. The St. George Harbor model is in support of the Alaska District (POA) and provide critical engineering data to support the development of a new harbor at St. George Island, Alaska. This island serves as a key port of refugee for industry and coast guard ships during large Bering Sea storms and ice flows. The Alaska District is currently moving through the design phase on this critical infrastructure.

Objective: This supply request is needed for critical model materials to support the St.

George Harbor Model. Without this material, CHL-ERDC will be unable to meet our requirements to build the model for POA and greatly delay the final design of the St. George Harbor.
