1.0 Introduction:
The Cross Creeks National Wildlife refuge is procuring services to remove an existing, damaged 20-foot x 14-foot rolling garage/shop door and under-powered lift motor and replace that damaged door with a heavy-duty 20-foot x 14-foot roll-up/rolling steel garage/shop door (brown in color) and upgraded lift motor. The work will be conducted in the Refuge Shop facility located at 643 Wildlife Road, Dover, TN 37058. The exact door model is: 20-foot x 14-foot Chi Model 6221, non-insulated slat, rolling steel door in brown. The exact motor to be installed is a Liftmaster Model GH751L5, single-phase, 115V, ¾ Horsepower Jackshaft Operator, on a 14’ rolling steel door with Rpen reflective safety sensor.
2.0 Background
This requirement is needed to replace a damaged, undersized door that is currently inoperable. The existing door is undersized/underbuilt for the required application and has bent over time so that it sits askew in the door rail system which causes binding and a potentially hazardous situation where the door could break free from the rails. This binding situation has also damaged the gearing associated with the under-powered lift motor.
3.0 Scope
The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, and supervision and perform the services at the time and frequencies specified herein to ensure that removal of the existing door and motor and installation of new components are performed in a manner that will maintain satisfactory facility condition and present a clean, neat and professional appearance. The service shall include all functions normally considered as part of a satisfactory garage door removal and installation service.
4.0 Performance Requirements
A. Furnished by the Government: No materials or equipment will be supplied by the Cross Creeks National Wildlife Refuge.
B. Furnished by the Contractor: Equipment to properly remove existing garage door and lift motor and install new garage door and lift motor.
