STATEMENT OF WORK

Columbia Environmental Research Center (CERC)

Wet-lab electrical reel installation

Background

The Columbia Environmental Research Center (CERC) requires installation of 15- 120v electrical reels, 7- 120v receptacles, and 4- 220v receptacles in the wet lab area of the A3 Admin building.

1. General:

The Contractor shall provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, safety measures, supervision, and services, unless otherwise specified, to complete the work required herein. All the work and procedures shall be performed in conformity to the specifications and work requirements herein. All work shall be in accordance with current NFPA standards. All local labor standards for occupational safety and health apply to this contract.

Existing site conditions:

The A3 wet lab currently has 2 200-amp sub-panels with multiple electrical drop downs.

2. Scope of work.

The Contractor shall perform the following work within this project to remove and replace 2- 200-amp sub-panels and install 6- overhead PVC conduit runs consisting of 26 circuits. Attached is a drawing layout of each proposed receptacle location. Each location will be confirmed on site.

· Remove existing conduit runs

· Remove and replace 2- 200-amp sub-panels

· Install 6- PVC schedule 40 conduit runs approximately 65 foot each with 125% capacity fill. This will allow future utilization of the PVC as the intent is to have them oversized by 25% from the need identified for this project wiring requirements.

· Install 15- 110v 20-amp electrical dropdown reels, reels will be supplied

· Install 7- 110v 20 amp receptacles

· Install 4- 220v 30 amp receptacles

· All conduit, fittings, and junction boxes shall be PVC

The Contractor shall provide operational and maintenance training to the CERC maintenance staff.

3. Drawings.

1. Contractor shall produce all shop and construction drawings needed for the job performance.

2. The Contractor shall keep copies of the drawings and specifications on the job and shall at all times make these available to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COTR) upon request. Any item provided for in the specifications or drawings shall be considered as being shown or provided for in both. In any case of discrepancy in the figures or drawings, the matter shall be immediately brought to the attention of the COTR, without whose decision said discrepancy shall not be adjusted by the Contractor, save only at its own risk and expense. The COTR may furnish from time to time such additional drawings or other information as the COTR may consider necessary.

3. The COTR may, at any time, by written order, make changes in the drawings and/or specifications of this contract and within the general scope thereof. If such changes cause any increase in the amount due under this contract, or in the time required for its performance, the Contracting Officer shall approve such changes and issue a modification to reflect such changes in writing. Changes in the scope of performance, or changes which result in increases in cost, must be approved by the Contracting Officer by modification.

4. The measurements are approximate. The exact measurement is to be determined by the independent measurements made by the contractor.

5. The Contractor shall at all times enforce strict discipline, good order among his employees and assure workmanship of the highest quality. The Contractor shall insure that all personnel employed in the performance of this contract are qualified and possess the necessary licenses required in their respective trades. The Contractor shall obtain all required licenses and permits at no additional cost to the Government, and shall be responsible for all damages to persons or property that occur as a result of its fault or negligence in connection with the contracted work, and shall further be responsible for the proper care and protection of all materials delivered and work performed until completion and final acceptance. The Contractor agrees to release the Government from all damages or claims arising from the work covered by this contract.

4. Contractor personnel:

The Contractor shall insure that all personnel employed in the performance of this contract are qualified and possess the necessary licenses required in their respective trades.

5. Debris Disposal:

Debris produced from the work shall be disposed daily outside Embassy in compliance with applicable local codes for the industrial waste disposal.

6. Utilities

1. Electricity is available at the site. City water is also available from the nearest to work area faucets. Electricity and water are provided at no cost to the Contractor during the work period. Both shall be utilized solely for the contracted work, never for any other purpose.

2. Advance approval by the COTR shall be required to install temporary electric wiring from the transformer and/or water piping from the faucets for the contracted work. Before the final acceptance of the contract by the Government, The Contractor shall remove these temporary installations and restore the original conditions.

7. Contractor's submittal:

The Contractor shall submit a work schedule, setting forth date, time, contents of work, personnel, and timeline to completion in English for approval by the COTR.

8. Schedule of work:

No work on site shall be commenced without the COTR's approval. The Contractor shall be ready to complete the contract work within 30 working days after commencement of the work. Actual schedule of work and working zones shifting shall be discussed with the COTR. Work will be done M-F, 7:30 AM – 4 PM excluding federal holidays.

9. Guarantee:

12.1. Unless otherwise stipulated herein, the Contractor shall guarantee the Contractor workmanship of the work completed under this contract for a one-year period from the date of the Government's acceptance of the work completion.

11.2. During the guarantee period, the Contractor shall correct and/or repair, at no cost to the Government, any damages and/or deficiencies that may be attributed to the materials and workmanship provided by the Contractor under this contract. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, at their own expense, to perform the repair and/or correction. The repair and/or correction must be completed within 10 days from Notice of Damage(s).
