About this file
This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) project to relocate a Rohn communications shelter/vault from Riverside, CA to South Fork Mountain in Shasta County, CA. The primary objective is to enhance BLM's communication network infrastructure, supporting law enforcement, fire, and administrative operations by improving the accessibility and functionality of critical communication equipment.
The project requires a contractor to transport an 8' X 10' X 9' prefabricated concrete shelter weighing approximately 22,000 lbs from the Riverside Radio Shop to a remote site on South Fork Mountain. Challenging site conditions include an unmaintained truck trail, potential off-road access, wildlife presence, and variable terrain with potential snow, rocks, and uneven surfaces. The contractor must handle all transportation permits, site logistics, equipment relocation, and adhere to strict safety protocols. The project has a one-year period of performance, with final acceptance contingent upon successful relocation, site cleanup, documentation, and meeting BLM's technical specifications.
