SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
Requirements for a side by side utility terrain vehicle (UTV)
The Oklahoma Texas Water Science Center (Integrated Hydrology and Data Science Branch) requires the purchase of a new Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) or small off-road vehicle, to support the ongoing data collection needs for the Data Observations and Geophysics team. Site conditions often warrant the need and use of a smaller utility vehicle to transport team members and geophysical equipment to areas that are inaccessible to larger vehicles. The ability to reach these areas efficiently and easily will greatly help the team to use complementary geophysical methods which will clearly map out the subsurface quickly and effectively, resulting in higher quality and denser data, reducing the amount of time spent in the field, and eliminate the need to physically walk equipment to remote sites, ultimately saving time and money for the center.
