Salient Characteristics S24079
ENVIRONMENTAL DATA BUOY SYSTEM
Salient Characteristics
1 ea. Environmental Data Buoy System:
1. Shall consist of a compact, self-powered, customizable, floating platform (data buoy) system that supports topside and subsurface environmental monitoring sensors such as weather stations, meteorological sensors, wave sensors, multiparameter water quality sondes, acoustic Doppler profilers, and other related sensors.
2. Shall include integral solar panels capable of producing at least 96-watts of solar charging power.
3. Shall be capable of providing at least 650 lbs. of buoyancy.
4. The buoy shall include a topside stainless-steel frame and tower extension, and a plate, for mounting a nautical beacon and weather sensors.
5. The buoy shall include a subsurface stainless-steel instrument mounting cage with anti-rotation collar.
The cage shall include pre-drilled holes for securing instrument clamps to accommodate water quality sondes and other subsurface sensors. The cage shall be removable for ease of maintenance and storage when not deployed.
6. Topside lifting eyes, and subsurface mooring eyes, shall be included for both single-point and two-point moorings.
7. Shall include three 4” pass-through holes with female NPT bottom threads allow for quick connection of instrument deployment pipes and custom sensor mounts.
8. The buoy shall be fitted with an integral waterproof compartment (data well), with feed-through gland fittings and watertight connectors, that provides adequate space for batteries and instrumentation.
9. The flotation component (hull) shall be yellow in color in accordance with international data buoy standards.
10. The buoy shall allow adequate topside space to accommodate various telemetry modules including radio, cellular, Iridium satellite and WiFi.
1 ea. Wet-Mate Lid:
11. Shall consist of a wet-mate lid (designed for wet environments) for the data well compartment that allows for custom sensor integrations.
12. Shall be compatible with wet pluggable bulkhead connectors.
13. Shall include holes for sensor cables and a hole for an optional RF adapter.
14. Shall include a power connection port and a solar connector pigtail cable.
15. Shall include pressure relief features.
16. Shall be equivalent to the NexSens Technology Inc. CB-MCL Lid to ensure compatibility with existing owned sensors and data acquisition devices.
1 ea. Bulkhead Connector Assembly:
17. Shall consist of a RF bulkhead connector assembly for interfacing with 3rd party modems.
18. Shall include a 1-meter pigtail cable with an SMA connector on one end and an N style connector on bulkhead cable end.
