1.1 GENERAL.
a. Description. Provide labor, oversight, materials, and equipment to remove and replace the existing boiler systems and associated heating infrastructure at the Dingmans School and Virginia Kidd House facilities located within Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area on the Pennsylvania side of the park. Work shall be provided in accordance with all Terms, Conditions, General, Specific, and Technical Provisions, Exhibits, Attachments, Maps, Drawings, and all applicable Federal, State, and Local codes and standards.
b. Background. Dingmans School (North Zone) is a facility eligible for the National Register and is occupied by NPS park rangers serving as the Pennsylvania North Zone District Office. The facility is critical for the administrative functions of the protection division and also serves as a visitor information station. The work will enhance the building’s efficiency and address the badly needed replacement of the existing boiler system. The building is currently heated by a steam boiler system (Slant Fin Intrepid TR- 60-PZT Steam Boiler).
The Virginia Kidd House is over 150 years old and located in Milford, Pennsylvania. The facility currently houses the Literary Agency and is heated by a Weil-McLain 68 steam boiler (Model # A/B 468). Currently both boiler systems suffer from intermittent operation. Due to the age of the boilers, replacement parts have become increasingly difficult to obtain and expensive to maintain.
c. Contractor Responsibility. Contractor’s work and responsibility shall include, but are not limited to, supply of equipment/materials, all planning, programming, administration, management, supervision, and inspection required to assure all equipment/materials are acquired and services are conducted in accordance with the contract and all applicable laws, regulations, or directives.
d. Performance Required. The contractor shall ensure all work is completed in a professional manner and in accordance with applicable building, mechanical, electrical, fire, and environmental codes. All work shall be completed under the supervision of qualified personnel.
e. Completion of Work. Completion of work shall include acceptable performance of all aspects of this contract and final approval by the Contracting Officer and Project COR.
1. Dingmans School (North Zone) – 978 Route 209, Dingmans Ferry, 18328
