About this file

This document outlines the salient characteristics for five turbidity sensors required by the Department of the Interior US Geological Survey Office of Acquisitions and Grants. The sensors must consist of submersible units with integrated wiper systems, measurement ranges of 5,000, 10,000, and 30,000 NTU using a 180 degree backscatter technique. Additional requirements include an accuracy of +/- 1% at 25 degrees C with a resolution of +/- 2.0 NTU or better, an auto range hopping feature, SDI-12 compatibility, operating temperatures from -10 to 40 degrees C, a diameter of 1.25 inches and length of 11 inches, a male SubConn bulkhead marine connector, deflector cone, applicable configuration and calibration software, and compatible cable assemblies in lengths of 20, 30, 45, and 60 meters with female SubConn bulkhead marine connectors.
