About this file

This document is a Salient Characteristics specification for a nitrate sensor procurement (S26031).

The requirement consists of two deliverables: one nitrate sensor unit and maintenance/calibration/repair services. The sensor must be a single-parameter optical UV-based device capable of continuous measurement in drinking water, wastewater, or activated sludge environments without requiring reagents. Technical specifications include a 2 mm path length, measuring range of at least 0.05 to 50.0 mg/L, accuracy of 5% of reading ±0.1 mg/L or better, minimum resolution of 0.01 mg/L, and operating temperature range from 2 to 40°C. The sensor housing must be stainless steel with an IP68 or better ingress protection rating, include sludge compensation features and a built-in self-cleaning wiper that requires no tools for replacement, and weigh no more than 12 lbs including a 10-meter polyurethane cable.

The maintenance and calibration component specifies services for Hach NT3100sc nitrate sensors, including two preventive maintenance services per year with full repair coverage for parts and labor. Additional requirements include unlimited priority technical support and troubleshooting, priority 5-day instrument turnaround time, and 2-day return shipping. The sensor must be compatible with a controller described elsewhere in the solicitation documents.
