About this file
This document is a Salient Characteristics specification for a Tracer Discharge Measurement System procurement.
The requirement is for two complete systems, each consisting of a portable tracer discharge measurement device, conductivity probes, and transport case. The device must utilize the sodium chloride (salt) tracer dilution method for determining stream discharge and be suitable for use in fast-flowing, turbulent waters. Key technical specifications include: portable and compact design; user interface with integral display; minimum 8 MB internal memory; operating temperature range of -20°C to 60°C; rechargeable AA battery operation with minimum 40-hour runtime; USB-C port and Bluetooth communications; and mechanical Ingress Protection rating of at least IP66. The system software must support data display and graphing, calibration guidance, post-processing, and data export in CSV or XML formats, with all necessary calibration supplies and documentation included. The compatible conductivity probes must feature integral cables of at least 30 feet in length, integrated temperature compensation, operating range of 0 to 2,000 µS/cm with 0.1 µS/cm resolution, and weighting armor. The transport case must accommodate all system components and accessories with protective inserts, hinged cover, telescopic handle, and wheels.
