About this file
This is a Salient Characteristics document (S26023) for a federal contract opportunity specifying requirements for a Remote Control System for Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) equipment.
The requirement is for 2 complete remote control conversion kits designed to convert Teledyne RD Instruments RiverRay/RiverPro (RR/RP) ADCP flotation devices into unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). Each kit must include dual propulsion thrusters, a communication/power module, a hand-held remote control with display and joystick, rechargeable batteries with chargers, mounting hardware, and cabling. The converted ADCP system must achieve a maximum remotely controlled speed of at least 9.5 feet per second and a cruise speed of at least 4.5 feet per second, with battery runtime capability of at least 1.5 hours continuous operation at cruising speed. The remote control system shall operate via 2.4 GHz transmitter with a minimum communication range of 300 feet. The conversion kit must require no special tools, adapters, or modifications to the ADCP float for assembly, and all components must be transportable in ruggedized, shockproof cases. The kits must be fully compatible with the specified Teledyne RD Instruments ADCP models.
