About this file
This document is a Brand Name Justification and Approval for the acquisition of Identiv-Hirsch controllers, uTrust TS readers, and related installation services under the simplified acquisition threshold.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Water Mission Area plans to contract on a brand name basis to acquire supplies compatible with its existing Identiv-Hirsch access control system installed at the Denver Federal Center Building 67. The estimated dollar value of the procurement is $45,844.94. The justification cites FAR 8.405-6 and the requirement for FIPS 201 compliant readers mandated for use in government facilities. The USGS conducted market research but determined the Identiv-Hirsch products and installation services are required for compatibility with the current system. Future requirements will be competed to the maximum extent practical. The contracting officer has certified a fair and reasonable price will be determined through competition among resellers.
