Description:

The existing Old Faithful Water Treatment Plant (OFWTP) was constructed in the early 1980s and much of the facility is past its useful life. It is the only potable water treatment system available within the Old Faithful developed area and supplies potable water for domestic services and fire protection. The water treatment plant is a conventional water treatment plant involving rapid mix, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection. The concentration of arsenic fluctuates seasonally and occasionally reaches high levels that are difficult for the plant to remove. The current design of the plant does not allow for consistent arsenic removal without continuous monitoring and adjustments by plant operators, which has led to issuance of an administrative order by the EPA for corrective action by NPS. Additionally, there are major concerns with the security and condition of the plant’s raw water intake structure that need immediate attention.

The project will include, but not limited to:

• Construction of all required features.

• Upon award, determine and provide an overall Project Schedule for the construction activities and proposed meetings.

• Provide as-constructed drawings.

Specific work details include:

• Construct new MCU water treatment plant building and roof including, but not limited to, a laboratory, control room, server room, break room, electrical room, process area, chemical rooms with containment areas, a below ground chlorine http://www.sam.gov/ contact basin and backwash supply wet well, an upper–level entrance and a lower-level loading dock.

• Provide interior and exterior piping, pipe supports, gates, gate operators, valves, valve operators, and valve supports.
