About this file

This document is a Sources Sought Notice for the procurement of an Altair-1040-VERSA Laser with built-in GDD precompensation and AOM-based power modulation. The National Institute on Drug Abuse, a civilian agency under the Department of Health and Human Services, is the issuing organization.

The notice indicates that this is not a solicitation for proposals, but rather an information gathering exercise to determine the availability and capability of qualified sources to potentially meet this requirement. The desired product must meet specific technical characteristics, including a wavelength between 1000-1100 nm, at least 10W of average power, and a pulse duration no higher than the stated limit. Responses to this notice will not be considered as proposals or quotes, and no award will result from this process. The government is seeking market research to inform the acquisition strategy and availability of domestically manufactured solutions.
