About this file
This statement of work outlines requirements for an annual service and maintenance agreement for a Bruker Ascend 400 MHz NMR system with an Avance Neo Nanobay. The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences Analytical Chemistry Core requires this agreement to be performed by a Bruker field service engineer to maintain the NMR instrument and ensure proper operation. The base period of performance is from May 18, 2023 through May 17, 2024, with four optional one-year extensions. The service agreement will include one annual preventative maintenance visit, repairs, and replacement of parts as needed to keep the NMR system and its components functioning according to factory specifications. Deliverables are maintenance and repair services to maintain operational status of the listed NMR instrumentation.

STATEMENT OF WORK (SERVICES)
(SOW)
GENERAL INFORMATION
Title of Project:
Annual Service and Maintenance Agreement for a Bruker Ascend 400 MHz NMR system with an Avance Neo Nanobay
Statement of Need and Purpose:
The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) Analytical Chemistry Core (ACC) requires an annual service and maintenance contract for a Bruker 400 MHz nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy instrument used by NCATS chemists. This annual service contract is necessary to protect the Bruker Ascend 400 MHz NMR system with an Avance Neo Nanobay and associated components in the event of malfunction or to provide preventative maintenance, which will allow the NMR instrument to return to a working condition meeting factory specifications. The work must be performed by a Bruker field service engineer as they have the requisite training to ensure Bruker’s proprietary software and hardware functions properly. During service visits, DPI will provide access to the facility, as well as access to the Bruker Ascend 400 MHz NMR instrument. There are no other government responsibilities beyond the above mentioned. Bruker will perform the necessary service requests at no additional cost beyond the cost of the annual service contract. Furthermore, the field service engineer will provide documentation outlining the performance attributes of the NMR instrument and associated components being serviced.
Background Information and Objective:
NMR spectroscopy is arguably the most powerful analytical tool a chemist has at their disposal for the identification and confirmation of organic molecules. Medicinal chemists at DPI use the NMR instruments daily to collect compound data, as well as conduct more advanced NMR experiments overnight. Constant access to fully functioning NMR instruments is imperative to maintain productivity in the successful pursuit of the DPI mission. As such, routine maintenance is of highest priority to ensure the NMR instruments operate properly. Furthermore, periodic upgrades and component replacement are required to prolong the instrument lifetime.
To help maintain and ensure the functionality of the Bruker Ascend 400 MHz NMR system with an Avance Neo Nanobay, we have a need for a Labscape Complete Maintenance Agreement from Bruker BioSpin Corporation. This agreement will include annual preventative maintenance of the Bruker 400 MHz NMR instrument and associated components to ensure proper system operability and longevity. In the event of a malfunction, this highly sophisticated and expensive instrument, as well as the associated components will require expert service. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that the Bruker Ascend 400 MHz NMR system with an Avance Neo Nanobay and all associated components are protected by a Bruker Labscape Complete
Maintenance Agreement. Without such an agreement in place, repair costs are extremely high and instrument downtime is much longer causing a significant decrease in scientif ic productivity.
Period of Performance:
One base year with an additional 4 option years Base Period: May 18, 2023 – May 17, 2024 Option Period 1: May 18, 2024 – May 17, 2025 Option Period 2: May 18, 2025 – May 17, 2026 Option Period 3: May 18, 2026 – May 17, 2027 Option Period 4: May 18, 2027 – May 17, 2028
