About this file
This document is an Award Recommendation from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for Request for Proposal (RFP) 180000003036, soliciting responses for a one-time purchase of a Truck Mounted Auger Drill Unit. The RFP was initially posted on SIGMA VSS on July 12, 2018, with a proposal due date of July 30, 2018. Only one bidder, Central Mine Equipment Company from Earth City, Missouri, submitted a proposal, which was evaluated by MDOT Fleet Specialist Scott Poyer and Contract Service Division's Klatra Pickett. The evaluation process included mandatory minimum requirements and technical evaluation criteria across five key areas, with proposals needing to score 80 or more points to be considered for award.
Central Mine Equipment Company was recommended for award at $255,711.00 after achieving a perfect 100-point technical evaluation score. The company, which is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOB), met all RFP requirements including being a certified authorized manufacturer. The procurement is for a single unit intended for construction, scheduled maintenance, and emergency response on roads, bridges, and facilities. No additional cost reductions or quick payment terms were identified, and the recommendation is based on the bidder meeting minimum point thresholds and offering the best combination of technical factors and pricing.
