About this file
This file contains meeting minutes from the City of Cumming City Council regular meeting held on July 19, 2022, documenting actions taken by the City of Cumming and Forsyth County regarding multiple municipal infrastructure projects. The council approved four primary proposals: a Water Storage Agreement with the State of Georgia for Lake Sidney Lanier allocation; resurfacing of Buford Dam Road; renovation and painting of South Ridge Water Tanks; and construction of the Lanier 400 Parkway Water Booster Station and Elevated Tank. The Lanier 400 Parkway project, the most significant contract action, called for construction of one 250,000-gallon elevated water storage tank, one booster pump station, 590 linear feet of 8-inch waterline, and 3,106 linear feet of 12-inch waterline. Proposals for this project were due by June 29, 2022, at 11:30 a.m., with the last day for contractor questions submitted in writing by June 17, 2022.
The council awarded the Lanier 400 Parkway Water Booster Station contract to Sol Construction, LLC as the second-lowest proposal at $4,497,773.00, selected after negotiations with bidders who submitted three total proposals ranging from $4,426,715.63 to $4,829,898.00. The Buford Dam Road resurfacing was awarded to Allied Paving Contractors, Inc. at $395,435.00, the low bid among four proposals, with $78,297.23 in GDOT LMIG funding applied. The South Ridge Water Tanks project was awarded to Onyx Blasting and Coatings at $378,181.50, the low bid among seven proposals. Water and sewer capacity sales from the Sawnee Village Development on Pilgrim Mill Road will offset costs for the Lanier 400 Parkway project, which was a 2022 budgeted item. All contract awards were unanimously approved by the City Council.
