About this file

This document is a set of questions and answers related to a Sources Sought notice for the procurement of an Anchor Handling Winch for the James River Reserve Fleet (JRRF) under Solicitation Number AW86240001. The Sources Sought notice indicates that the U.S. Department of Transportation's Maritime Administration (MARAD) is conducting market research to identify interested parties and resources to support this requirement. The key details include that the winch must be designed to handle wire rope, and MARAD is requesting pricing for the entire system as well as major components. The winch and associated hydraulic power unit (HPU) can be a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) item that meets the requirements, without additional design effort required. MARAD does not intend to make an award based on this Sources Sought notice, and will not reimburse any costs associated with providing information in response.
