About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the replacement of a front desk counter at the Fitness Center, Building 588, located at 1051 Connecticut Avenue. The project requires a 150-day performance period with standard working hours from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Key requirements include removing the existing counter, disconnecting and capping electrical wiring, and installing a new counter assembly with specific design characteristics: a flat horizontal surface, a 3' wide swinging half-door, free-standing storage cabinets, electrical receptacles, communication ports, and a conduit system for the 24-hour computer system. The new counter will not have recessed computer monitor banks or built-in lighting, and will be positioned approximately 3' from the block wall, avoiding an existing large column. The contractor must coordinate with the Communications Squadron for wiring installation and ensure proper floor patching and tile replacement during the conduit installation process.

STATEMENT OF WORK

REPLACE FRONT DESK COUNTER, BLDG 588

Nov 19, 2024

PROJECT SPECIFIC INFORMATION:

1. Location: 1051 Connecticut Avenue

2. Performance Period of Construction: 150 Days

3. Working Hours: Standard (7:00 am to 5:00 pm)

4. Restricted Area (as defined in HAFB Instruction 31-102): No

SCOPE OF WORK:

1. The Contractor shall remove and replace the front desk counter at the Fitness Center, Bldg

588.

2. Five (5) as-built drawings are attached. Drawings 1 and 3 are Plan drawings. Drawing 2 is a Section drawing. Drawings 4 and 5 are Electrical drawings.

3. One drawing for the storage compartments is attached.

4. Disconnect, remove, and/or temporarily cap all of the existing wiring servicing the counter.

All wiring must be out of the way before the counter can be removed.

5. Remove and dispose the entire counter assembly after the wiring has been removed.

6. Install a new counter assembly in the same location as the existing counter. The new counter assembly will be similar in size and configuration to the existing counter. However, it will not be an exact match.

7. The new counter will not have any recessed computer monitor banks. The entire horizontal counter surface shall be flat.

8. See Drawing 1. You will see different colored ovals around the counter. These ovals represent the locations of certain features in the new counter. The oval locations are approximate. The exact location of the features will depend on where everything can fit in and won’t conflict with other features.

9. See the Blue Oval. There will be a swinging half-door at this location. The door will be about 3' wide and 3' high. It will swing both ways. It will be constructed of finished wood.

The bottom of the door will be about 2" above the floor. The existing counter runs all the way to the block wall at this location. The new counter will stop about 3' from the wall.

10. See the Green Oval. There is an existing large column located at the “8.3” circle. The existing counter is built around this column. The new counter will not be built around the column. Terminate the new counter next to the column on both sides.

11. See the Yellow Ovals. There shall be some storage cabinets at these approximate locations.

The cabinets will be located below the counter. The cabinets will not be built into the counter. They shall be free-standing structures that can be moved. The cabinets shall be placed on the floor. Each cabinet structure will be about 4' wide and 2.5' high. See the attached drawing called “Storage Compartment Drawing”. The new cabinets will be similar to this one.

12. See the Orange Ovals. These are where the electrical receptacles will be located. Install duplex receptacles above the counter. Install quadplex receptacles below the counter.

13. See the Purple Ovals. This will be location of the Comm ports for the computers and phones. Install the box and conduit. The Communications Squadron will run the wiring at a later date. The location of the conduits and box will have to be coordinated with the Communications Squadron during construction. The FSS Squadron will submit a ticket to Comm for the coordination process.

14. See the Pink Ovals. Install grommet holes in the counter at these locations. Install electrical conduit from the grommet holes to the nearest electrical receptacles and comm ports.

Terminate the conduit a few inches away from the receptacles and comm ports.

15. See the Tan Oval. This is the location of the 24-hour computer system. Remove and reinstall the existing junction box and other accessories for the 24-hour system in this area.

16. See the Brown Oval. Install conduit from the 24-hour system to the Brown Oval. The conduit will be installed below the counter. The conduit will have to be placed in the floor where the Blue Oval is since there will now be a gap in the counter here. Sawcut through the concrete floor, install the conduit, then patch the floor. Install new floor tile to match the existing tile as close as possible. The new conduit shall terminate next to the existing 24-hour system conduit that is attached to the block wall in this area.

17. The new counter shall not have any built-in lighting.

18. Install barricades around the work area as required.
