About this file

This document is a Salient Characteristics specification sheet for the L3 Harris AN/PRC-167 Multi-Channel Manpack Radio System. The radio is a versatile, secure communication solution designed for military applications, supporting simultaneous data and voice transmission across multiple modes including SATCOM, Line-of-Sight, and Mobile Ad-hoc Networking (MANET). It features a wide frequency range of 30-2600 MHz, supports numerous narrowband and wideband waveforms, and can handle various voice and data transmission types with Denali-based Type-1 encryption.

The radio offers robust physical and operational specifications, weighing 12.9 lbs with dimensions of 3.50 x 7.25 x 14.31 inches, and is finished in CARC Green 383. It can operate in extreme temperatures from -40°F to 140°F, meets MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration standards, and provides power output ranging from 250 mW up to 20W. Key interfaces include USB 2.0, Ethernet, 19-pin ADF audio, and 50-ohm TNC antenna ports. The system supports external mission modules, GPS, and is compatible with various battery types, making it a flexible communication tool for mission-critical operations, particularly for Radio Telephone Operators conducting special operations.

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS

L3 Harris Brand-Name

AN/PRC-167

Multi-Channel Manpack Radio Systems and Associated Cables

I. GENERAL OVERVIEW.

The L3Harris AN/PRC-167 Multi-channel Manpack Radio is a versatile, secure solution that leverages crossbanding to provide simultaneous data and voice across SATCOM, Line-of-Sight and Mobile Ad-hoc Networking (MANET) modes. As mission needs evolve, this software defined manpack supports fast, in-field updates to new capabilities. An external mission module hardware interface allows warfighters to quickly add options including ISR video and SATCOM.
