Use or disclosure of data contained on this sheet is subject to the restrictions on the title page of this proposal intRoduction RJE International was founded 30 years ago as a manufacturer of mission critical products for the underwater environment. In 2017 RJE Oceanbotics was formed as a division of RJE international with the goal of creating a “drone-like” experience underwater for pro-fessionals in the marine industry, an underwater ROV that is as easy to fly as a drone; this includes balancing itself automatically and staying put when you take your hand off the controller. The idea was to take the complexity out of the picture for the operator.
Doing so means being able to get underwater tasks done faster, easier, better, and more reliably.

FLY THE SRV-8 IN MINUTES
8 thrusters, battery powered and depth rated to 305 meters – the SRV- 8 underwater drone allows you to navigate through your missions with ease.
One person portable
Deploy and operate within 3 minutes
Configure for any mission with a customizable modular platform.
Advanced SubNav™ Software allows for easy recording and play-back of all video, sonar and navigation data on a laptop com-puter. Built for the future, the SRV-8 can easily integrate add-on features from Oceanbotics™ and other third-party vendors.
A NEW WAY TO MOVE
Unmatched Maneuverability
8 thrusters and advanced programming, the SRV-8 is quick and agile, moving instantaneously in any direction (6DOF).
Battery Powered
SRV-8 is powered by 2 hot-swappable Lithium batteries getting up to 8+ hours of operation on a single charge
Tether Diameter
43% thinner than topside powered ROVs. Allowing us less drage since there is no need for power transfer through the tether (only data).
No Topside Generator
No need for a power source, allowing us a reduction in operating footprint and providing the ability to operate from any platform.
Easy to Operate
The SRV-8 uses a standard gaming con-troller which is connected to a sunlight readable screen for easy viewing. Learn-ing to pilot the vehicle is easy, quick, and intuitive.

The SRV-8 surface control console provides you the interface necessary to control the SRV-8 subsea vehicle and to access the serial/ethernet ports and video outputs from the vehicle.
Battery operated by an external power supply, the console has a large sunlight readable screen that display the camera image of the ROV for managing the vehicles position. In addition, the screen also provides necessary vehicle status like: depth, heading, battery level, temperature, pitch, and power settings.
Attaching the tether from the reel provides the interface for accessing the ROV while plugging in the Xbox control.
moBile pilot Station
For small boat operations or where space is limited, the SRV-8 mobile pilot station is idea to control the ROV. The mobile pilot station consists of a SRV-8 Digital Interface Module (DIM), a ruggedize tablet PC with sunlight readable screen, a Xbox controller all incorporated into a vest that is worn on the chest by the operator. The key to accessing the vehicle functions is the Subnav software that is loaded onto the ruggedize tablet PC. It provides all the access to controlling the vehicle, recoding the data, and visualizing the sonar data.
digital inteRFace module
The SRV-8 Digital Interface Module or DIM allows you to interface with the ROV through a personal computer that has Subnav loaded onto its drive.
Small and external powered, the SRV-8 DIM provides the link between the vehicle and Subnav software to control all aspects of the SRV-8.

The SubNav™ software enables logging of all available data for post mission analysis and playback. Operators can evaluate vehicle dynamics and position information for improved situational awareness both during and after the mis-sion with logged data synchronized to the HD video timeline. SubNav™ system software is supplied with the system and may also be installed on any suitable Windows based computers for displaying topside controller ethernet outputs including digital video, sonar and positioning information.

SRV-8 Battery chargers are 110 / 230 VAC man-ually selectable. LED status indicators provide operator with a visual indication when batterie are charging and when charging is complete.
Typical recharge time is approximately 2 hours.
Note, the batteries are hot swappable in the vehicle so that additional batteries may be used for continuous operations.
