About this file
This document is a Technical Specifications sheet for a federal procurement requirement issued by the US Geological Survey (USGS) Geology, Energy, and Minerals Science Center (GEMSC). The USGS seeks to procure a new titanium alloy 300 mL high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) reactor system with accessories to support critical mineral recovery experiments from silicate rocks and mine wastes. The specific model required is Series 4760 Pressure Vessel (model designation: 4760-300mL-T-TI2-VGR-VD-2000-4848-PDM-BTS-115), and the equipment must be new and currently in production; refurbished or demonstrator units are not acceptable.
The reactor must feature a 300 mL moveable head vessel assembly mounted in a benchtop stand with a maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) rating of 1200 psi at 300°C. All internal wetted parts and head/cylinder components must be constructed of Titanium grade 2 alloy, with external valves and fittings in stainless steel. The head assembly must include a 0-2,000 psi pressure gauge and transducer, gas release valve, gas inlet/sampling valve, gold-faced Alloy 600 safety rupture disc rated at 1200 psi, and a Type J thermowell with thermocouple. The system includes a benchtop stand with 115V heater assembly and a 4838 Temperature Controller (115V) featuring PID temperature control with ramp and soak programming and a Pressure Display Module (PDM). Required accessories include an A495HC gas filling hose assembly (6 ft reinforced nylon, 2500 psi, -40°C to 93°C), ASME-certified vessel assembly with U stamp, A1925E4 PC Communication Cable with RS-485 to USB converter (30 ft), and A3504HC SpecView datalogging software or equivalent. Delivery is required to the USGS facility at 12201 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA 20192.
