SUMMARY

The following is a summary of the significant findings of the inspection.

A verticality survey was performed to measure the radial deviations of the shell. The maximum out‐of‐plumbness was found to be at Station No. 4 which deviated outwards by 1.344 inches.

The maximum calculated internal diameter was found to be 60.101 feet at Station

2 (diametrically opposite Station 6) at an elevation of 16.2 feet. The minimum calculated internal diameter was found to be 59.841 feet at Station 1

(diametrically opposite Station 5) at an elevation of 1 foot.

VERTICALITY SURVEY

METHODOLOGY

The verticality survey was conducted at eight (8) vertical stations, evenly spaced around the tank starting at the Gauge Point. Using the bottom course as a reference circle, ( 3.5 foot elevation), the shell deviations were measured with three (3) readings per course, one foot above the lower horizontal weld, at the middle of the course, and one foot below the upper horizontal weld.

The analysis involves calculating the internal tank diameter at various elevations.

The internal diameter is calculated by using two methods. A two (2) point analysis, whereby shell deviations diametrically opposed to each other are used to calculate an internal diameter thus giving the verticality, and a three (3) point analysis where by the shell deviations at three (3) triangulated stations are used to calculate an internal diameter thus giving the roundness.
