Once the order is placed with the contractor, they will have 72 hours to deliver the bulk road salt order. Based upon historical usage data, an approximate maximum of 500 tons of road salt could be used in one winter season depending on the severity, frequency, and number of winter storms. Quantities may increase or decrease based on the needs of the government.

Most orders will be made between the months of October and April, but orders may be placed in other months as well.

4.2 Magnesium Chloride Pellets

Magnesium chloride pellets (dyed blue, green, or orange) will be delivered palletized. After each winter storm, an inventory of magnesium chloride pellets in storage will be made. If it is determined that restocking of the magnesium chloride pellets is needed, an order will be placed. Once the order is placed with the contractor, they will have 72 hours to deliver the magnesium chloride pellets (dyed blue, green, or orange). Based upon historical usage data, an approximate maximum of 20 pallets of magnesium chloride pellets (dyed blue, green, or orange) could be used in one winter season depending on the severity, frequency, and number of winter storms. Quantities may increase or decrease based on the needs of the government.

Most orders will be made between the months of October and April, but orders may be placed in other months as well.
