About this file
This document is an attachment to a federal contract opportunity for the U.S. Coast Guard. It provides detailed packaging, marking, and bar-coding requirements for 154' Fin Stabilizer System and Component Parts that will be ordered under the contract. Items must be individually packaged and packed according to MIL-STD-2073-1E and shipped in appropriately sized wooden boxes or crates. All markings, including NSN, nomenclature, quantity, and condition, must be stenciled on the containers in black block lettering on a white background. Bar coding of the NSN per MIL-STD-129R is also required. Shipments must be delivered to the specified U.S. Coast Guard facility during normal business hours. Failure to meet the packaging, marking, and bar-coding requirements may result in rejected and returned shipments, delaying payment.
The related federal contract opportunity is for a 5-year, firm-fixed-price contract with economic price adjustment to purchase genuine Quantum Marine Engineering Fin Stabilizer Systems and Components for the 154' Sentinel class Patrol Boat, Fast Response Cutter (FRC). This is a sole-source procurement as the Coast Guard does not have the technical data to evaluate or use alternative parts. The solicitation will be posted on SAM.gov, and the anticipated NAICS code is 333998. Responses to the sources sought notice must include information on the vendor's capabilities and experience in supplying the required OEM parts.
