About this file
This is an Assurance of Compliance document issued by the County of San Mateo Contract Compliance Committee on August 5, 2013, establishing Section 504 accessibility requirements for contractors entering into agreements with the county. The document requires all contractors to comply with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and all applicable Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) regulations, guidelines, and interpretations. Contractors must certify their compliance status by indicating whether they employ fewer than 15 persons or 15 or more persons. Organizations employing 15 or more employees must designate a specific person to coordinate compliance efforts with DHHS accessibility regulations. The assurance is binding on the contractor, its successors, transferees, and assignees, and serves as a condition for contract award.
The document requires authorized officials to provide complete information including the contractor name, designated 504 compliance coordinator (if applicable), street address, and city/state/zip code, along with a certification signature, title, and date. The compliance framework includes an exception provision stating that contractors with fewer than 15 employees may refer individuals with disabilities to other accessible service providers if compliance would require significant alterations to existing facilities. This assurance document is a standard compliance requirement for the Overpayment Resolution Services RFP No. 66000-2526-225 and must be completed and submitted by all proposers as part of their contract compliance obligations.
