About this file

This document is a Specification Attachment for a Request for Proposal (RFx 3000024726) issued by the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The project involves upgrading fire alarm systems in three buildings: the Music and Arts Building, High School Building, and Robert A. Alost Gymnasium. The contractor will replace existing fire panels with Edwards Technology System (EST) iO1000 panels, install new voice evacuation amplifiers, and replace various detection and notification devices to meet current NFPA72 fire safety code requirements. The project requires replacing multiple components including fire alarm control panels, pull stations, smoke detectors, heat detectors, strobes, batteries, and related accessories. A site visit contact is provided (Hillary Ward at 318-471-1825), and bidders are required to specify brand/model information for "or equal" components.

The specification emphasizes minimal disruption to the school's operations, noting that LSMSA is a statewide residential high school with students present continuously. The document includes detailed equipment lists for two building zones, specifying exact quantities and part numbers for each component. Bidders must maintain a clean work site, avoid tobacco use on campus, and obtain prior approval for any replacement or repair work. The general terms indicate standard industry warranties will apply, and special consideration must be given to the school's unique residential educational environment. No specific budget, funding source, or contract term is explicitly stated in the attachment.
