About this file

This is a Project Abstract Summary Requirement document mandating compliance with OMB Memoranda M-21-20 and M-22-02 for Department of the Interior financial assistance awards. All proposals submitted via Grants.gov must include a Project Abstract Summary organized into six required sections: project title, award purpose (in plain language avoiding acronyms), activities to be performed, deliverables and expected outcomes, intended beneficiaries, and subrecipient activities if applicable. The abstract is limited to one page or approximately 4,000 characters using 12-point Times New Roman font. Upon award issuance, the Project Abstract Summary will be publicly posted on USAspending.gov to ensure complete and accurate financial assistance award descriptions are available to the public.

The associated federal grant opportunity is a Cooperative Agreement for Affiliated Partners with the Pacific Northwest Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) offered by the Department of the Interior U.S. Geological Survey under CFDA 15.808 (U.S. Geological Survey Research and Data Collection). The project focuses on developing predictive modeling tools to assess the likelihood of non-native fish invasions (brook trout and smallmouth bass) and their impacts on native bull trout and freshwater streams in the Northwest under various future scenarios and management approaches. Eligibility is restricted to participating partners of the Pacific Northwest CESU Program. The work advances multiple Executive Orders and departmental priorities related to conservation, fisheries management, recreational fishing access, and safeguarding vulnerable ecosystems. Award sizes typically range from $30,000 to over $2 million for multi-year agreements, with recent CESU solicitations featuring 30 to 45-day application windows and funding decisions made within 3 to 6 months.
