About this file

This is a requirements document for the Project Abstract Summary (PAS), a mandatory component of proposals submitted to the Department of the Interior under OMB Memoranda M-21-20 and M-22-02. The PAS must be submitted alongside proposals via Grants.gov and will be publicly posted on USAspending.gov upon award issuance. The document is limited to one page or approximately 4,000 characters in 12-point Times New Roman font and must include five specific sections: project title with plain language description, award purpose (avoiding acronyms and agency-specific terminology), activities to be performed, deliverables and expected outcomes, and intended beneficiaries and subrecipient activities if applicable.

The PAS requirement applies to this specific cooperative agreement opportunity with the Rocky Mountain Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, administered by the USGS Fort Collins Science Center under the U.S. Geological Survey Research and Data Collection program (CFDA 15.808). The funding opportunity supports research to improve the invasive species habitat tool (INHABIT) to deliver practitioner-requested products for invasive species management decisions. This aligns with Executive Orders 14303 (Restoring Gold Standard Science), 14308 (Empowering Commonsense Wildfire Prevention and Response), and 14165 (Securing our Borders). Applicants must include the completed PAS with their Grants.gov submission as a standard requirement for all financial assistance awards from the Department of the Interior bureaus and offices.
