About this file

The document is a Project Abstract Summary Requirement template from the Department of the Interior, mandated by OMB Memoranda M-21-20 and M-22-02. It provides specific guidelines for creating a project abstract summary for financial assistance awards, which will be publicly available on USAspending.gov. The template requires applicants to organize the summary into key sections including project title, plain language description, award purpose, planned activities, deliverables, expected outcomes, intended beneficiaries, and any subrecipient activities.

The summary must adhere to strict formatting requirements: limited to one page (approximately 4000 characters), using 12-point Times New Roman font, and must be submitted alongside the proposal via Grants.gov. This document is associated with a USGS Cooperative Agreement for research on invasive aquatic species monitoring in the Mississippi River Basin, focusing on maximizing the return on investment for natural resource monitoring by developing more effective approaches to tracking and managing invasive species dynamics through advanced analytical methods like Bayesian belief networks.
