QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
TRAUMA KITS REQUIREMENT
POSTED ON BETA. SAM
Q1: Can the US Government please clarify/provide what the packed weights & dims for GREEN color coded items?
A1:
All items in green, with the exception of a plastic whistle, have approximate sizes listed in the Specification Packet.
Q2: Do you want these to be pre-built kits, or do you want the items delivered to you separately to be kitted by you?
A2:
Items in red are to be delivered and will be installed by organic agency personnel.
Q3: Are the dimensions of the hard cases flexible? For instance, is an alternative case that is slightly different from the listed dimensions acceptable as long as it fits the required items?
A3: The hard case dimensions must accommodate all items identified in the Specifications Packet and must be able to fit into the hard case wall cabinet identified in the Specifications Packet with respectable requirements for both.
Q4: Is a vacuum-sealed bag or a soft bag acceptable in place of the hard case?
A4: No, a hard case is required.
Q5: Is an offered alternative wall cabinet acceptable as long as both the kit and the litter fit?
A5: The intent is to purchase a wall cabinet that meets the specifications found in Specifications Packet that is capable of securely holding the identified items in the Specifications Packet.
Q6: Are the two latches on the wall cabinet required? We have a wall cabinet that closes magnetically, and is lockable, if that is a necessity.

Trauma Kit Requirement

A6: Two latches are not necessarily required. However, the cabinet must have a clear window in order to see the contents and must be able to be secured with pull-snug plastic security tag(s). Because this can be used during an emergency by anyone in proximity, no boxes with key locks will be acceptable.
Q7: For the wall cabinet door labeling, do you need a full contents listing, or simply a label indicating that a trauma kit is inside?
A7: The labeling is intended to identify the trauma kit only and not the individual contents within the trauma kit itself.
Q8: Do you have any must-have brands for any of the items?
A8: There are not necessarily any specific brands required so long as all contents meet the description identified in the Specifications Packet.
Q9: Is there a firm delivery date for the items?
A9: There is no firm delivery date. The tentative delivery date would be approximately 3-6 months after the effective date of the award.
