Statement of Need

Background: The North Florida/ South Georgia VA Healthcare Systems has a requirement for - Medium Steam

Sterilizers.

Scope: Scope: The Contractor shall provide all new equipment, accessories, deliver, install new equipment, and perform all required operational testing with the SPS Department. Contractor shall also, deinstall specified equipment. All equipment and installation must meet Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and VA specifications. All new equipment must be compatible with current operating equipment in place; (previously purchased from

Steris).

Salient Features Include:

o Must be able to process up to 12 trays weighing 25lbs each.

o Must come with an electric vacuum pump o Must contain sensors that minimize cooling water needs o Must have wall space 26 x 37.5 x 48" (660 x 950 x 1220 mm) o Must have single hand door hinge o Must have loading docking station o Must have safe and easy access to all components from the front and left side of sterilizer o Must have real-time remote monitoring of sterilizer function and cycle parameters with ProConnect o Must have operator interface control panels o Must have multi-color touch-sensitive screen graphics 30-line x 40-character display o Must have Ink-On-Paper Impact Printer o Must have safety control lockout switch o Must have chamber float switch o Must have safety pressure relief valve o Must have power multi-door safety features o Must Non-Operating End (NOE) Control Panel o Must have Lighted DIN connectors o Must contain ProConnect® Technical Support Services o Prevac Cycles (4-minute exposure) - 270°F (132°C) o Prevac Cycle (3-minute exposure) - 275°F (135°C) o Gravity Cycle (30-minute exposure) - 250°F (121°C) o Liquid Cycle (45-minute exposure) - 250°F (121°C)

• Water Supply o Sterilizer Cold Water Supply Temperature Requirement 70°F (21°C) Max o 20-50 PSIG Dynamic (1.38 - 3.45 BAR) o 1” NPT o Peak – 13 GPM (49.2 LPM) o Consumption Average – 26 x 37.5 x 48 – 120 GPH (8.0 LPM)

• Drain o 2" ODT drain terminal (Floor Drain Capacity Must Handle Peak Water Consumption)

• Steam o 1" NPT, 50 to 80 psig (3.5 to 5.6 bar) dynamic, 97% to 100% vapor quality

Peak – 26 x 37.5 x 48 – 340 LB/HR (154 KG/HR)

Average - 26 x 37.5 x 48 – 148 LB/HR (67 KG/HR)

• Sterilizer Feed Water o 1" NPT, 20 to 50 psig (1.4 to 3.5 bar) dynamic. Water is used for vacuum pump, heat exchanger and trap cooling

• Electrical - Controls o 120 Volt, 50/60 Hz, 1-phase, 2.0 Amp (3A Circuit Breaker Recommend)

• Electrical – Vacuum Pump o 208/240 Vac, 50/60 Hz, 3-phase, 6 Amp per phase (8A Circuit Breaker Recommended) o 380/415 Vac, 50/60 Hz, 3-phase, 3 A per phase o 480 Vac, 50/60 Hz, 3-phase, 3 Amp per phase (4A Circuit Breaker Recommended)

Facilities Management Requirements:

o Deinstall current Steris AMSCO® Century V-148H Prevac Steam Sterilizers.

o Do all plumbing and provide mixing valves.

o Provide water supply

Delivery Date of Equipment: 2/03/2023 or within 30 days after contract is awarded.

Warranty of Equipment: Contractor must provide manufacturer(s) warranty on all provided equipment/supplies.

Place of Performance: Lake City VA Medical Center, 619 S. Marion Ave., Lake City, Florida 32025

Note: Complete onsite assembly and installation Services: Installation shall be performed by licensed, bonded, vaccinated healthcare storage assembly teams with ample experience working under the time restricted needs of the OR and MSD.
