About this file
This is a mandatory abstract submission template for Stage A of the DARPA Quantum Benchmarking Initiative (QBIT) 2026 program, issued under solicitation number DARPA-PA-26-02-02. The template prescribes formatting and structural requirements for all abstract submissions, including an 8.5 by 11-inch paper size with 1-inch margins, minimum 12-point font (8 or 10-point permissible for figures and tables), and a maximum of 8 pages excluding the title page and references. Submissions must be in .pdf, .odx, .doc, or .docx format and written in English.
The abstract must include five key sections: (1) Proposed Approach (recommended 3 pages) summarizing the technical approach to construct a utility-scale quantum computer; (2) Technology Challenges (recommended 3 pages) identifying specific technical risks and critical challenges; (3) Technical Ability (recommended 1 page) demonstrating team qualifications and organizational capabilities; and (4) Roadmap (recommended 1 page) describing planned milestones and critical prototypes through 2033. Proposers must also complete administrative sections identifying the prime organization, technical and administrative points of contact, estimated total cost, period of performance, team members, and confirm they do not provide SETA, A&AS, or similar support services to any DARPA office. The template is designed for organizations responding to DARPA's solicitation for innovative approaches to fault-tolerant quantum computer construction and computational workflows.
