About this file

This document is a specifications attachment for a sewer sample testing contract for the Louisiana State Penitentiary located in Angola, LA. The contract requires a DEQ certified laboratory to perform comprehensive weekly, quarterly, and annual testing of sewer samples collected from the facility's oxidation pond. Weekly testing includes two tests each of Biochemical Oxygen Demand, Total Suspended Solids, Fecal Coliform, pH (hydrogen ions), and Flow Rate. Annually, the laboratory must conduct Bioessay and Priority Pollutants testing, which includes Acute Toxicity testing and specific species examination (Daphnia Pulex and Pimephales Promelas). Quarterly testing will focus on Nitrogen and Phosphorus levels.

The document specifies that the agency will collect samples, and the successful vendor will retrieve these samples from the front gate on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:00 pm. The laboratory must submit test results to the agency no later than 10 days after sample pickup. Bidders are required to submit proof of DEQ certification with their bid. The specification document is part of a rebid/fax bid process, identified by the RFx number 3000025000, indicating this is likely a re-solicitation of a previous contract for sewer sample testing services.
