About this file

This is a Requirements/Specification Document for procurement of a high-frequency oscilloscope issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Communications Technology Laboratory, Spectrum Technology and Research Division, Shared Spectrum Metrology Group (675.03). The Shared Spectrum Metrology group seeks one new, manufacturer-supported high-frequency oscilloscope for time-domain measurement of LTE and 5G signals.

The oscilloscope must meet the following technical specifications: minimum sample rate of 12.0 GS/s per channel for at least two channels; frequency range from DC to 6 GHz (not exceeding 8 GHz); RMS noise floor not exceeding 350 µV at 2 mV/div; dynamic range exceeding 106 dB; memory depth exceeding 200 Mpoints at 12.0 GS/s; front-panel display screen; 120V-60Hz single-phase AC power input at maximum 15 Amps; and capability for automation via SCPI commands over USB and/or Ethernet ports. Delivery shall be made no earlier than 60 days after release of order to NIST-Boulder, Mail Stop 675.03, 325 Broadway, Boulder, Colorado 80305, with partial delivery acceptable. Acceptance is not expected to exceed 7 business days. The vendor must provide electronic manuals and a perpetual license key. A 3-year extended warranty covering labor and parts is required, and a 3-year calibration plan including labor, spare parts, software updates, and annual calibration is mandatory. No installation, training, maintenance, or travel services are required.
