About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the acquisition and installation of two high-speed, chairside dental milling machines at VA San Diego Medical Center Dental Clinic. The procurement covers the acquisition, installation, integration, and training for CEREC dental milling equipment capable of fabricating crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers, and bridges during single patient visits. The equipment must feature wet/dry milling capabilities, "Super Fast" zirconia milling (approximately 5 minutes per restoration), "Extra Fine" precision modes, a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen interface, RFID tool management, and support for a minimum of 50 validated dental materials including zirconia, glass ceramics, hybrid ceramics, and PMMA.
The contractor must deliver, install, and validate the equipment with seamless interoperability with the existing CEREC Primescan intraoral scanner and design software, ensuring integration with VA clinical workflows for same-day restorations. Installation must include an integrated block scanner, all accessories for clinical deployment, onsite training for clinical and support staff (minimum 4 hours), and workflow testing between the existing CEREC system and scanner. The contractor is responsible for all parts, accessories, labor, travel, shipping, and waste removal, with work performed Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at VA San Diego Medical Center Dental Clinic (Building 11, Room 2A108, San Diego, California). A guaranteed manufacturer's warranty of minimum 12 months and 24-hour business hour response time for support requests are required. Documentation of all installation, configuration, training, and repair activities must be submitted prior to contractor departure, with no data storage media permitted to leave VA premises.
