This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for mechanical brushing and tree removal on the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in Bayfield County, Wisconsin. The project involves treating 85 acres across five work areas (Line Items MBA-1 through MBA-5), with mechanical brush removal using chain saws and brush saws. The targeted vegetation includes aspen, birch, hazelnut, maple, oak, and willow trees less than 6 inches in diameter, which will be cut to stumps less than 6 inches tall while preserving mature pine and oak trees.

The contract is scheduled for execution between August 1 and September 30, 2025, under Solicitation Number 12444625Q0018 for the Department of Agriculture Forest Service. Contractors must provide their own equipment, ensure safety protocols, and maintain environmental standards, including preventing damage to the work area and ensuring equipment is free of non-native invasive species. The work will be performed during summer/early fall when ground conditions are suitable and after the oak wilt restriction period, with georeferenced maps and GIS shapefiles to be provided to the selected contractor.
