About this file
This is a Technical Specifications attachment document for a sole source procurement of NGC Chromatography Systems manufactured by BioRad Laboratories. The NGC family of chromatography systems is designed for both analytical and preparative purification applications, with multiple system configurations available featuring optional valve and detector module upgrades. The base system includes two pump modules, a mixer, a sample injection valve, a combined UV and conductivity module, all necessary accessories, and ChromLab software for instrument control, method creation, and data evaluation. Systems are available in two primary configurations: the NGC F10 with flow rates ranging from 0.001-10 ml/min (or 0.5-20 ml/min in High Flow mode) and the NGC F100 with flow rates ranging from 0.01-100 ml/min (or 1.0-200 ml/min in High Flow mode). All pump heads feature dual piston design with all-PEEK construction to ensure biocompatibility and chemical inertness, and systems come pre-plumbed with 1/16th inch PEEK tubing and a point-to-plumb feature with LED light guides for proper connection.
The specifications document details optional detector configurations including a single UV monitor with LED lamp detection at 255nm or 280nm wavelengths, and a UV/Vis detector with Deuterium and Tungsten lamps capable of simultaneous detection at up to four wavelengths ranging from 190-800nm. Both detector types are designed for easy lamp replacement. Systems include a standard 5mm flow cell with 2mm and 10mm flow cells available as optional accessories. The procurement is identified as sole source, indicating BioRad Laboratories is designated as the exclusive supplier. Pump flow rate accuracy is specified at 1.5 percent for the NGC F10 at 0.1 to 10 ml/min range. A compatible computer running Windows 7 or higher is required to operate the system software.

ChromLab™ Software Sole Source Features and Performance
ChromLab is a single software package for instrument control, method creation, and data evaluation and is used for all NGC systems. It is not necessary to purchase software packages when additional modules are added. The unique fluidic scheme selector allows users to quickly modify the fluidic scheme to match any physical changes to the system (Figure 4).
Figure 4.
ChromLab’s unique mapping feature allows users to easily map multiple valve modules to the exact physical location on the system hardware (Figure 5).
Figure 5.
ChromLab can run in manual mode and saves the data generated by manual runs.
