About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a service contract to process water samples for the Renal Dialysis Unit at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. The contract will provide testing services including Colony Forming Unit (CFU), LAL/Endotoxin, AAMI Water Panel, and Fluid Balance testing. These tests are required by the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) standards and equipment manufacturers to ensure patient safety. The contract will have a one-year Base Period beginning October 1, 2026, followed by four one-year Option Years. Annual testing quantities are: 81 CFU tests (19 monthly plus 16 semi-annual plus 30 redraws), 81 LAL/Endotoxin tests (same quantity structure), 29 AAMI Water Panel tests (19 annual plus 10 as needed), and 21 Fluid Balance tests (16 annual plus 5 as needed).
Performance monitoring will be conducted by Medical Instrument Technicians (MITs) who are responsible for collecting, packaging, and shipping samples to the selected laboratory. Laboratory results will be delivered via email three to four days after sample receipt, with MITs verifying receipt and confirming results meet regulatory limits. The contractor will track specimens and ensure they reach the laboratory for processing. The place of performance is the Renal Dialysis Unit, and delivery of processed specimen reports will occur on schedules appropriate to each test type. The solicitation number is 36C26026Q0762, and the opportunity type is listed as Pre-Solicitation.
