FR 2410 Gravel Supply Project Hiawatha National Forest

SUMMARY OF WORK

1.1 SUMMARY

A. Name of Project: FR 2410 Gravel Supply Project

B. Work for this project consists of: Furnish all material, equipment & trucking, labor including wages, supervision, transportation, weight slips, MDOT 23A gravel, and misc. materials necessary to complete aggregate hauling and chain spreading/unloading on FR 2410 as stated in the specifications and attachments.

1. Forest Service will provide traffic control signage. These signs will warn the public of “Road Construction Ahead”. The Contractor will follow all Safety requirements on the Forest Service Road system. The roads will be open to the Public during project activities.

2. Contractor shall supply, haul, and place MDOT 23A aggregate.

3. Contractor shall unload gravel using spreader chains in locations designated by

Forest Service personnel.

4. The Contractor shall deliver at a minimum of 400 tons/day and no more than

600 tons/day.

5. The Contractor shall deliver aggregate between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday.

6. Contractor shall provide weight slips (date/time) for every load of gravel delivered. All weight slips at the end of each day shall be provided to the Forest Service Representative.

1.2 LOCATION

A. FR 2410 is located approximately 7 miles North of US Highway 2/FH-13 intersection in Delta County.

1.3 USE OF PREMISES

A. General: The Contractor shall limit his operations to the construction limits within the defined area of FR 2410.

B. Preservation of Natural Features: Contractor shall confine all operations to work limits of the project and prevent damage to natural surroundings. Contractors shall restore damaged areas at no additional expense to the Government.
