SHERMAN INDIAN HIGH SCHOOL
STATEMENT OF WORK for SY24-25
Psycho-Educational Assessment/Evaluation
Sherman Indian High School, 9010 Magnolia Ave. Riverside, CA 92503 needs a contractor to provide Psycho-Educational Assessment Services for students who are identified as needing Special Education services. Students receiving this service are those requiring 3-year re-evaluations or newly referred students who may be qualified for Special Education services, related services and accommodations.
The Psycho-Education Assessment Services will be in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), 34 CFR 300.323, Part B, 25 CFR, #1-80 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, 29 USC 794. IDEA requires free appropriate public education to eligible children with disabilities nationwide. It ensures special education and related services to those children. These services must be available at the start of the school year each year.
The period of performance will be the date of award through May 10, 2025, at Sherman Indian High School.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential/License in School Psychology
2. Knowledge of methods of assessment; systematic processes to collect data, translate assessment results into empirically based decisions about service delivery and evaluate outcomes of services.
3. Knowledge of learning processes, appropriate instructional interventions to meet students' needs, and the ability to implement and assess their effectiveness.
4. Knowledge of behavioral mental health, collaborative and/or consultation models and methods and their application.
5. At least 1-3 years of experience in completing psychological evaluation/3-year re-evaluations needed for special education student IEP's.
The individual psycho-educational assessment service will include:
1. The administration of a battery of tests chosen in collaboration with the Special Education Department.
2. The scoring of all tests administered.
3. The interpretation of the test results.
4. The provision of a comprehensive written report describing the results of the assessment to the school within 30 days of the evaluation.
5. Documentation that parents and staff receive a copy of the individualized report.
6. Availability of the psychologist to participate in MDET/MDT/IEP meetings where the results of the testing are interpreted to parents/guardians and staff within 60 days of the evaluation as needed by the SIRS Special Education Department staff.
7. Follow the California/BIE Evaluation requirement format.
The individualized written psycho-educational report will include:
1. Basic student data as furnished by the referral packet at the Sherman Indian High School Special Education Coordinator.
2. Diagnostic statement categories listed in 34 CFR.
3. Reason for referral
4. Background information: educational status and history, health assessment, and prior evaluation history.
5. Behavioral observations/Classroom Teacher Observations
6. Assessments as requested on permission to evaluate which may include:
a. intelligence
b. academic achievement
c. social behavior
d. perceptual abilities,
e. emotional behavior
f. ADHD
g. Other assessments relevant to the performance of the individual child
7. Summary report
8. Recommendations for placement, instruction, social, medical, and classroom accommodations that will benefit the student etc.
The contractor will:
1. Be available to complete 15 re-evaluations for the special education department and 5 initial evaluations on campus as scheduled by the Special Education Department at SIHS.
2. The school psychologist will arrange to meet with the special education coordinator or IEP Committee for their annual review, re-evaluations, and other concerns as needed or requested by the SIHS Special Education Coordinator.
3. Follow the California Evaluation requirements as stated in section 300.352, Evaluation and Procedures; and
4. Be available for IEP/MDT meetings to review documents and provide professional input concerning the service delivery for the student, if requested by the parent or the special education coordinator:
5. Provide their current state certification to both the BIE Special Education Department and Sherman Indian High School Special Education Department.
