2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
1. Sample Collection Type: Breath bag capable of being run on BreathID instrument.
2. BreathID kits must include two (2) breath bags, urea drink solution, and one transport bag per kit.
3. Specimen Stability: Samples must be stable for up to 7 days.
4. Sensitivity & specificity: Both Sensitivity and Specificity must be greater than 95%.
5. Kit must have proficiency testing samples available through the College of American Pathologist (CAP).
6. Test kits must be FDA approved
3. SERVICE
1. Services to be performed on Meridian Bioscience BreathID Smart.
2. A technical assistance center shall be available by telephone 24 hours per day, 7 days per week with a maximum call back response time of 1 hour at no additional charge.
3. Equipment repair response time shall be no more than 24 hours, responses shall be via email or phone. A technician must be onsite within 24 hours of initial request.
4. Service agreement will cover 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
5. Preventative maintenance will be performed as frequently as published in manufacturer’s operator’s manual and within a 2 week period leading up to the scheduled due date.
6. A malfunction incident report shall be furnished within 1 business day to the Laboratory upon completion of each repair call.
7. Upgrades - The Contractor shall provide software upgrades needed to maintain the integrity of the system at no additional charge to the Government. These shall be provided as they become commercially available and no later than when they are being provided to commercial customers. This requirement only applies to “system upgrades” that enhance the model of equipment being offered, i.e. new version of software, correction of hardware defect, upgrade offered to commercial customers at no additional charge, upgrade to replace model of equipment no longer Contractor supported, etc. This does not refer to replacing the original piece of equipment provided; Additionally, this requirement applies to VA mandated software requirements.
8. Service must be performed by OEM trained technicians.
4. MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS
1. Vendor shall define daily, weekly, monthly and as needed maintenance that is to be performed by the operators.
2. Vendor shall indicate which tasks are user level and which are service level.
3. Maintenance must be performed by OEM trained technicians.
5. TRAINING
1. Training is to be performed on an as-needed basis.
2. Vendor shall provide on-site training for equipment operation, maintenance and/or troubleshooting.
3. Training shall include, the operation of the equipment, use of IDKit and additional activities needed to properly use the equipment and IDKits.
